not sure what to do with this anymore

Post by xtreme » Sun May 04, 2008 4:23 pm

i dont know what to do with this information... it may be totally useless and I would likely beat my head on
my keyboard if I were to discover it was true.. but I got this list from 12 hours of farming one day.. im still new
to the concept of crafting as well as new to the idea of being a chef and when I was looking for similar on the bazaar.. I noticed some of the names on the looted item had changed.. like nabooian wild milk (example1) which I looted someone was selling the same nabooian wild milk.. but it had a different name to it.. which just seems to make this whole gathering ordeal a bigger pain in the ass

but this is the info I got

abbr as follows
DR= Decay Resist
FL= Flavor
PE= Potential Energy
OQ= Overall Quality
MA= Mallibility
SR= Shock Resistance
UT= Unit Toughness

anything marked (?) I do not have specific data on
anything marked N/A means the item cannot be looted

also there are abbr before the names of the loots for details on the creature loots

That was some impressive lists. I don't know where to start really.

Have you read the Beginners Guide for Traders? That guide explains how the resource spawning system works, which is very different from many other MMOs.

Have you found the GUIDE - Creature Resources which explains what resources drop from what creatures? Not to having you to invent the wheel another time.

Resource are best added at the main page of this site, under Current resources. A few tips though:

Please go to the main page at http://www.swgcraft.co.uk/dev/ and find the link named Settings, right next to the logo. Select your galaxy, Chilastra, right? That will help you end up at the proper galaxy each time you visit the current resources.

At the page Current Resources, find the planet you want to add resources for. Bottommost is a text input field. You can either paste a lot of names for resources there, or easier, learn the input format described in the next paragraph. Test it out at the galaxy named SWGCraft.co.uk.

The input format is quite easy and here comes an example for 3 different resources that you can test if you want. Notice that the first and last line are delimiters that must be included in the blob you paste into the text field. The blob can be quite large but the larger the more error prone, I use about 15 resources at a time.

Code: Select all

swgcraft_start
xtreme,Nab Wat Vap,123,456
zimoon,Nab Wild Whe,987,654,321,479
hansolo,Desh Copp,12,34,56,78,90,24,58,99
swgcraft_end
Notice that it is possible to abbreviate the resource class name as long as it is still possible to distinguish from another resource class. The stats are typed in exactly the same order as read in game and this site sorts them out.

Be careful to spell the resource names correct and to submit them for the correct planet. Misspelled resource names are the most common cause for name clashes, that is, you cannot enter a resource because that name is already taken, in error.

Watching out for resources is a mini game in the game which many of us just love. The unique system also makes it possible for crafters to add their own touch to their produce, they can choose another combination of resources than any other crafter, possibly to boost some other quality of the goods.

However, it requires us to keep at our toes, constantly watching out for that uber spawn we are waiting for and run head over heels when it finally is there to put down as many harvesters we possibly can at the best concentration we can find. Only to discover that that other resource class we also were looking for spawns at the same time with awesome stats ;) :P

Don't hesitate to continue posting questions, we are happy to help and always embrace newcomers with open arms :)

That's exactly what will happen. The resource class will be the same, but the name and stats will change. Spawns last anywhere from 1 week to 22 days, IIRC. Most Mustafar resources, for instance, last just the 7 days before changing, while High Grade Polymetric Radioactive looks like it usually lasts closer to the 22 days.

If a schematic calls for, say, Wild Wheat you can use any wild wheat you have, but just the one type in the one slot. You couldn't add 28 Rori Wild Wheat x and 12 Rori Wild Wheat y. Factory schematics, if you use them, are picky as well. Whatever the name of the resource you use to make the schematic, you must use the same unique name when you do the factory run.

Hope that's helpful.

there goes my free time LMAO!!!

well right now ive been farming carn meat on Yavin.. the numbers arent perfect but im not gonna get too picky with 964 for FL and 816 OQ.. its the best ive found so far... and I dont have the musty expansion yet so farming there is not a possibility

too bad you cant RE (or mix) 2 types of the same ingredient for a better product... like if one had 100 FL and 900 OA and the other was 900 FL and 100 OA... maybe you could mix them to get something that might be like 600 or 700 in both stats... just another idea I guess

There are recyclers for minerals, flora, and creature resources (and maybe others) that take any scrap of resource you've got and turn it into a plain-named inferior resource. They've got 200 across all stats and are called "Recycled Ore" or something like that. They're useful for the amounts that can't be used for anything, but that's about it.

Recyclers for the different resource classes are described in Recyclers 101.

They are perfect for recycling small lots of different resources when quality doesn't matter, especially so for manufacturing schematics since they require the same resource in the factory as used while creating the manufacture schematic. Recycled resources are always the same.

Yes, hunting resources takes some time, indeed. And as I said, it is a mini-game in the game. One of many.

Another tip is to befriend a few combateers that want to level up with creature slaying and harvesting for you. Indeed, you can harvest the very same carcass if you are grouped and enhance the yield, even non-combat traders can do it once the creature is dead. The higher the CL of the character the better the yield.

It is almost impossible to do everything yourself so the sooner you get some friends to "work" for you the better. Once you can afford it you are able to hand out contracts for what you want and soon the bigger stacks of great resources will occupy your storage.

There are 3 buffs you can stack when creature harvesting, the group bonus, veghash (food), and a harvesting droid (120 is the max).

If you have multiple accounts you can dual log have one on follow with a droid and your now doubling your take. I often times give droids and hash away to group members as long as they sell to me or give me the take, guild members FTW!!
