HI. I am new to SWG and droid engineering. I have been looking for help to a few questions regarding droid construction.

Can a barker’s timing be reset? If so, how?
Combat modules; are the more effective to place three of the same weapons in the same module or different weapons in the same module? I.e. are 3 flame units in the same module more effective in combat rather than a flame, torture and shocker in the same suite?

What is the best way to get maximum data and item store for droid’s general modules?

The barker droid will repeat the message every 60 seconds if there is someone in range. You can't alter this.

Combat modules do stack, but only to a point. The value associated with the special determines the maximum level of the special. 1-49 for level 1, 50-99 for level 2 and 100+ for level 3, stacking above 100 has no additional effect. The level of the special determines its strength. Only traders can access level 2 and 3, non traders are limited to level 1 regardless of the value of the special. It is usually better to have multiple different specials but if you really want level 3 of a special and can't cap a single module then stack some until you get 100.

Maximum data storage comes from a level 6 data module. A level 7 offers no additional space but takes more resources. You can stack lower level modules but you will be using extra slots in the droid. You could also use high quality resources and experiment a level 5 module but that is a waste of expensive resources.

Maximum item storage is 30. You can get this in 2 slots if you use 2 capped level 7 item modules. If you can't cap them then level 7s are not worth making. You can also get 30 storage from any combination of item modules with a total rating of 30 or more - 3 level 5s rated 10 (about 50% experimentation) would be a good choice.

Thank you, Sambril.

In the case of making a entertainment droid, is it necessary to stack effects like, foam in the module? For storage is there a efficient combination for a configuration?

Entertainment modules come in 2 types - the 6 effects modules and a playback module. There is no need to experiment on either type and there is no need to stack similar effects modules - either the module is present allowing the effect or it is absent. On the other hand having a selection of different effects is a good idea. Adding multiple playback modules allows multiple recordings.

NOTE: Only record music tracks to a playback droid - if you try to record regular effects or dances you will bug the droid making it unusable.

The most efficient combination of modules for storage is 2 capped level 7 modules. This solution is only really needed if you need the slots for other modules. If you can't cap them or don't need the slot then 3 level 5 modules experimented to 50% or so (should be possible with all but the really poorest resources) is the cheapest in terms of resources.
